With series two of the hit BBC Drama Sherlock returning to our screen this Friday we thought we'd embrace our inner detective with a Sherlock inspired window, put together by our talented apprentice. Look out for the clues to some of Sherlock's famous cases!

New To You

Happy Friday everyone! 

What a scorcher this weekend promises to be, and with that in mind we've worked really hard to bring you some fantastic new ladies fashion in wonderful, bright summery colours. We're open all weekend so don't forget to pop by and grab a bargain as we have all your favourite high street brands including H&M, Zara, Jeager and even Michael Korrs (to name just a few)! 

We've also totally revamped Menswear to keep our dapper gents looking. well.. dapper! There's many a pair of designer jeans and shirts to be found, along side some fab accessories and some perfect gift ideas.

This last week saw a huge run on our fantastic selection of furniture, so yesterday we received six new pieces of quality vintage/retro pieces. We particulary love the vintage Laura Ashley Chesterfield.

Bright & Beautiful

As the sun is shining and people enjoy the Lincolnshire Show this week, we thought we'd keep things bright and beautiful with our window. It is always such a pleasure to hear the wonderul positive feedback we get about our quirky, eye-catching windows. The displays reflect the fantastic high quality donations we have so generously donated to us, including ladies fashion and vintage/retro lifestyle accessories in our Attic.

Father's Day

 

Treat Dad to something different this Father's Day with many of the quirky gift ideas we have to offer in The Attic. From vintage cameras and binoculars, to games that will remind him of his childhood, pop by to find your perfect gift for him this Sunday.

We have a variety of beautiful spring dresses in stock at the moment, including authentic vintage and fab brands such as Whistles!

Crafty Business

Have you seen the latest Attic display featuring all you need to get your crafting into gear? From vintage singer sewing machines, to quirky bits of furniture for you to shabby chic, we have everything you need to get your DIY project started! 

Spring Colours

Despite the mixed weather we've had lately, we're getting really excited about Spring being round the corner and have injected some lovely fresh colours into The Attic to brighten up these bitterly cold days. Not to mention that love is in the air with Valentines Day in less than two weeks. 

If you hadn't already noticed, we like to have fresh flowers in the shop and try our best to get as much life out of them as possible. This extends to once the flowers have dropped as we make confetti using the dried petals. It's really easy to dry petals if you haven't done before. Simple carefully remove the head of the flower from the steam, and gently pull the petals away. Lay the petals out on a try (or similar large surface) being careful not overlap the petals, and leave in a warm dry place. Voila - you're own homemade confetti. 

Coloured glass and dinner services made from oddments are super fashionable, ever-so practical  and most importantly, mega affordable. We have a wonderful selection of vintage glasses om all shapes, sizes and colours which all look stunning together and make a great talking point when entertaining. 

Finally, we have some fab new items of clothing in our Attic wardrobe - but hurry as they're already flying out!

Mad Hatters Tea party

Just incase you haven't seen our fabulous tea cups in the window we thought we would share a few photos. We have got some beautiful cups and saucers in, at just £2 pounds a cup or £2.50 with a saucer, they would make perfect gifts or would look brilliant at a tea party.

Quirky mis matched crockery is all the rage, it can give a great twist to traditional afternoon tea. Or see our previous teacup post for creative inspiration with ideas like creating candles and birdfeeders!

Fancy That!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are excited about the New Year?

We'd love to hear about how you're planning to see the New Year in! If you're attending a Fancy Dress party on Monday night but are still stuck for an idea for your costume, you still have time to pop by our shop and we would be more than happy to help. 

We are open today (Sunday) until 4pm and tomorrow (New Years Eve) from 9.30am to 3pm. 

So far this week we have helped attire a Murder Mystery 'Wealthy 60s Banker', an entire 'Steam Punk' outfit, various 60s/70s/80s themed outfits, and the odd flamenco dress here and there!

With prices starting at as little as £10 and more sequins than Strictly Come Dancing, we'd love to help you find your perfect attire to celebrate 2012/2013.

Less than a week 'til Christmas!

It's less than a week until and we hope you're as excited as we are?!
Some of us are really organised at Christmas, but for others December seems to go by so quickly that time for buying presents runs out and you end up leaving it to the last minute to panic buy on Christmas Eve.

So for those in a bit of panic and rush, we thought it would be a handy to give you some last minute gift ideas that can be found in the shop that would make great unique gifts for your loved ones (or anyone you accidentally forgot!)

Our very popular 'new stock' makes fa lovely gift for anyone, from matching gardening tools, beautiful photo boxes, lovely wicker hearts and vintage style pillows.

For a unique vintage gift idea we have some lovely old books and annuals that would make anyone smile.

Or for the ladies we have some beautiful and unique penny earrings and broaches in The Attic. These would be perfect for cracker presents or 'Secret Santa'!

This Is Knit

Whether you're an experienced knitter or thinking of taking it up as a new hobby for 2013 our retro knitting patterns are defiantly a brilliant project, and you will end up with a big cozy jumper which are a must at the moment!

This week the shop has also been home to this AMAZING Singer sewing machine table, complete with many spare bobbins! It is such an amazing piece, even just to look at and an original Singer is so beautiful in itself. 

Team it up with our vintage sewing patterns and you could create some amazing unique outfits made with your own two hands!

Raise a Teacup!

Here at The Attic we are always getting beautiful vintage tea sets in, each with unique and different patterns and designs on. 

With Christmas fast approaching we thought we would give you a few gift ideas that are so lovely and different and would make the perfect unusual gift!

How about creating your own candle in a lovely vintage teacup? You can buy wax and wicks cheap online and whats great is you can choose whatever colour or scent you want! and once its used can be refilled again!
