* Stair baskets not only look great, but are a practical solution to gathering all your bits and bobs throughout the day to be taken upstairs!

* Looking for some bedside cabinets but bored of the endless MDF and Pine ones featured in high street stores? We have two fab retro cabinets that are not only practical, but stylish too. 

Quality for less!

We've had some very generous donations of quality brands - perfect investment pieces for this season. 

Bright coloured cardigans are ideal transitional garments as the weather warms up but there's still a chill in the air. We also love this silk and velvet Jigsaw party dress - a timeless classic suitable all year round. 

A few of our favourite things

Our primary source of inspiration when it comes to dressing the shop is usually dependent on what treasures we've had kindly donated to us. However, we also love getting visual ideas from the many magazines we stack up between us. 

We got a particular flurry of excitement when flicking through the February 2013 issue of Real Home magazine, as infamous yellow walloper we have in The Attic made a grand appearance! Pick up a copy of the magazine to find out where it's from! 

It's no secret that we absolutely love The Simple Things magazine. Both Carol (Shop Leader) and Rachael (Deputy Shop Leader) are subscribed to the magazine, and the minute it drops through their letter boxes their phones are buzzing with excited messages to each other. We particularly liked this piece on 'Junk Shop Finds'. As a rule, we really don't like to think ourselves as a Junk Shop (!), however this feature gives great ideas on up-cycling, reclamation, and how to style & source quirky and unusual finds. 

It's also not the first time The Simple Things have featured vintage style mirrors as part of their styling. We still have a lovely selection of these types of mirrors starting at as little as £10 - a great cheap, light reflecting, and beautiful lift to your home this January!

Mad Hatters Tea party

Just incase you haven't seen our fabulous tea cups in the window we thought we would share a few photos. We have got some beautiful cups and saucers in, at just £2 pounds a cup or £2.50 with a saucer, they would make perfect gifts or would look brilliant at a tea party.

Quirky mis matched crockery is all the rage, it can give a great twist to traditional afternoon tea. Or see our previous teacup post for creative inspiration with ideas like creating candles and birdfeeders!

Changing Rooms

We hope you're all keeping warm and cosy during this bitterly cold weather? Thankfully, we've managed to stay open here on Lincoln High Street. In fact, we've been busy having a little move around downstairs, creating lifestyle room sets for you to easily browse our great selections of furniture, pictures & mirrors, and household accessories.

While it's cold outside and warm inside, it's a great opportunity to set to on home makeovers and DIY projects. Your New Attic!

Since you've all been so lovely and patient with us while we've made improvements to The Attic, we thought we'd share with you the first look at what we've been up! We've made some quite big changes, making the room look brighter and more spacious, making it easier for you to look and enjoy all the wonderful Vintage & Retro clothes, accessories, and ornaments we have to offer.

We will also do our upmost to remain fully open during the inclement weather - we're open from 9.30am until 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am - 4pm on Sunday. So be sure to pop by and take shelter from the bitter weather outside!
